Jessica Winters was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. She began playing viola at the age of 10. While attending James W. Martin High School, Jessica was a part of the 2015 Honor String Orchestra and had the privilege to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Jessica is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Texas at Arlington. During her time at UTA, Jessica has consistently played in the University of Texas at Arlington Symphony Orchestra and the chamber music program. Jessica formerly held an executive council position for the Collegiate Texas Music Educators chapter at UTA. She also currently holds multiple leadership positions with the Zeta Nu chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota. Jessica, a firm believer in academics in and outside of the classroom, has been awarded 7 Dean’s List recognitions
Outside of school, Jessica enjoys freelancing, having performed across the DFW Metroplex, including performances in the Meyerson Symphony Hall. Jessica enjoys teaching a private studio of violin and viola students, ranging from elementary to high school. Many of her students have won Region ensemble and solo awards during their time studying with her. Jessica’s primary teachers were Catherine Forbes, Jen Tyler Summers, Michael Stringer, Jennifer Lemin and Lyn Stone. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her cat and dog, Zena and Kallie.
