Jennifer Hay is the Executive Director for the B Sharp Youth Music Program. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of B Sharp including the B Sharp After School Program at the Leadership Academy at Como Elementary, the B Sharp FWISD Gold Seal Program of Choice (POC) at the Leadership Academy at Como Elementary, and the B Sharp Youth Orchestras (BSYO) including the BSYO Symphony Orchestra and the BSYO Philharmonic Orchestra.
Prior to joining B Sharp, Ms. Hay served as an Associate Band Director at Colleyville Heritage High School, the Head Band Director at Ousley Junior High School in Arlington, TX and as an Assistant Band Director at Timberview High School in Mansfield, TX, Martin High School in Arlington, TX, and Murchison Middle School in Austin, TX. During Hay’s time at Martin High School, the Warrior Band was named Grand Champion of the Duncanville Marching Invitational, Grand Champion of the Desoto Classic, Grand Champion (for five years in a row) of the UTA Marching Festival, and Grand Champion of the North Texas Band Championships. Ms. Hay has earned Sweepstakes at UIL Concert & Sight reading Contest with her concert bands, as well as Outstanding Performance ratings at numerous festivals.
During the 2011-2012 school year, Ms. Hay was named the Ousley Junior High School Teacher of the Year in addition to receiving the honor of being named one of the top three Outstanding Junior High School teachers in the Arlington Independent School District. In 1999, Ms. Hay received a Citation of Excellence from the National Band Association for outstanding contributions to bands and band music. Ms. Hay holds a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelors degree in Music Education from The University of Texas at Austin. During her time at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Hay marched piccolo in the Longhorn Band and was elected President of the band during her senior year. Hook ‘em Horns!
Ms. Hay previously served as the North Texas Colorguard Association Circuit Administrator, the University Interscholastic League Solo & Ensemble Chair for the Region 5 High Schools and as the Texas Music Educator Association Region 5 Middle School/Junior High Band Chair. Ms. Hay is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
